May 6th we will be discussing "Well Wished" by Franny Billingsley, the book we read in APRIL. Participants will also receive the next book we will be reading for MAY which is "The Book of Three" by Lloyd Alexander. "The Book of Three" summary from Amazon.com: An epic struggle between good and evil that shapes the fate of the legendary land of Prydain. A fantasy book. This FREE book club is for grades 3rd - 8th. Want to help us decorate for Summer Reading?  Sign up below to paint the outside of our library windows!  This year’s theme is Color Our World. The possibilities are endless. We will supply the paint and brushes. YOU MUST STOP BY THE LIBRARY FOR A PLANNING SHEET PRIOR TO THE PROGRAM DATE – OR – you can sketch out your idea on white computer paper. You must have something drawn to show us for approval before you begin painting. We will have a 3ft x 3 ft square outlined with painters tape. That will be your work area! You only have 1 hour for your allotted time slot so PLEASE really think about what it is you would like to paint. We will be here to help as well. Your work will be displayed all summer!  This program is for children in 3rd to 12th grade and registration is required.  PLEASE CHOOSE WHICH TIME SLOT YOU WOULD LIKE AND COMPLETE THE REGISTRATION FORM BELOW.

Travel with Packer on a reading adventure and get your puppy passport stamped! You will need to sign your child up for a 15 minute reading spot below. Bring a favorite book from home or choose a book from our stacks. It is up to you! This is a great opportunity for kiddos who love dogs, are a reluctant, shy or struggling reader. The Batesville Memorial Public Library will be closed May 15th from 9am until NOON for a quick staff training and preparation for summer reading. WE will OPEN our doors at NOON. Thank you. The Ukulele Club is a club for anyone who plays or wants to learn how to play the Ukulele. We have fun singing and playing all kinds of music! Music sheets are provided. The Ukulele Club meets in the (Activity Lab located in the children's area) of the library every 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month, from 6:30 - 7:30pm. Batesville Library has FREE Ukuleles for checkout if you are interested in playing or learning to play. For more information about this club please contact Janey at psteph@etczone.com.
