    BMPL’s Summer Reading Program will start June 1 – July 19! Our Summer Reading Program is a fun reading challenge for readers of all ages, with or without a library card! To participate, download or log in to the Beanstack app using your phone or a web browser. Designed to inspire a love of daily reading, log each day you read—NO book titles needed and NO tracking your minutes. Whether it’s 20 minutes or an hour, every day counts. Read to yourself or someone else it counts! Physical books, ebooks, audiobooks, braille, or live reading from an author, it counts! Main goal: Have FUN!   • BAAC Community Art Show Reception

    Join the Batesville Area Arts Council (BAAC) as we celebrate local talent at our 28th Annual Community Art Show Awards Reception. Event Highlights:   - Artist Meet & Greet: Meet the talented artists behind this year's entries. - Awards Ceremony: Stick around to see which amazing artwork takes the top prizes, including Best of Show ($400) and 1st Place ($300). - People's Choice Award: Stop in anytime before the reception to cast your vote; voting remains open until 6:45 pm on the night of the event.   • Rusty Bladen with Opener Lilly Reding Concert

    Summer Concert Series: Rusty Bladen Opening Act: Lilly Reding (Local) at 5:30pm Rusty’s show is a high-energy, freewheeling tour-de-force of Bladen originals, rock and roll, country-rock covers, and an evening that turns into a party. Bladen has performed at festivals and clubs throughout Indiana and the Midwest, captivating the crowd with his performance, his band, and plenty of audience participation. Rusty has toured in Ireland, is a summer festival favorite, and his music has been featured in a major studio film. BMPL's outside space is DORA approved. Walk to your favorite bar in town to grab a dink in the DORA APPROVED CUP and head over to listen to the Concert. Join us every Monday for a fun filled 30 minute interactive session that uses rhymes, songs, puppets, musical instruments and more to stimulate the learning process of babies and toddlers. This program is geared towards ages 0 to 3. Help your little one grow by: Building Early Literacy Skills Encouraging Language Development Supporting Social and Emotional Growth in a low-pressure setting NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Instead, join Miss Sarah at Liberty Park every Monday morning on the grass by the playground to spend time reading together. This will be cancelled in the event of rain. Ages: Free for kids ages 3-5 years old Location: Liberty Park Batesville, IN Time: 11-11:30am NO REGISTRATION. Our normal Storytime will return back to Tuesdays at 10am, 2pm or 6pm on August 18, 2026.

  • Outdoors More Volksmarch

    A Volksmarch (German for "people's walk") is a non-competitive, recreational walk or hike through scenic or historic areas, focusing on fitness, fun, and camaraderie; participants follow marked trails, get cards stamped at checkpoints, and enjoy nature, local culture, and sometimes refreshments. Come join us the last Tuesday of each month! This month we will meet at the parking lot across from Weigels Funeral Home for a Batesville (History Walk). ALL AGES WELCOME Registration is REQUIRED All Children MUST be accompanied by an Adult Participants must be able to stay in between the two BMPL Guides while walking and must be able to follow all instructions while visiting special locations.     Wire jewelry making uses basic tools to shape and wrap copper wire into a beautiful piece of art. This workshop covers basic wire wrapping techniques to transform copper wire into a tree necklace. All supplies will be provided for this activity. This is a FREE class.     The Ukulele Club is a club for anyone who plays or wants to learn how to play the Ukulele. We have fun singing and playing all kinds of music! Music sheets are provided. The Ukulele Club meets in the (Activity Lab located in the children's area) of the library every 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month, from 6:30 - 7:30pm.
