    BMPL’s Summer Reading Program will start June 1 – July 19! Our Summer Reading Program is a fun reading challenge for readers of all ages, with or without a library card! To participate, download or log in to the Beanstack app using your phone or a web browser. Designed to inspire a love of daily reading, log each day you read—NO book titles needed and NO tracking your minutes. Whether it’s 20 minutes or an hour, every day counts. Read to yourself or someone else it counts! Physical books, ebooks, audiobooks, braille, or live reading from an author, it counts! Main goal: Have FUN!   • Felting Class

    Meeting Room A 131 N. Walnut St., Batesville, IN, United States

    Felting is one of the oldest forms of textile arts. Needle felting begins by rolling a small amount of wool and stabbing it with a needle. It is a quick hobby to learn, and many find it stress-relieving. Get ready for Independence day by creating a Patriotic Needle Felted Design with Hoop Frame!   • Ukulele Club

    Activity Lab 131 N. Walnut St., Batesville, IN, United States

    The Ukulele Club is a club for anyone who plays or wants to learn how to play the Ukulele. We have fun singing and playing all kinds of music! Music sheets are provided. The Ukulele Club meets in the (Activity Lab located in the children's area) of the library every 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month, from 6:30 - 7:30pm. Batesville Library has FREE Ukuleles for checkout if you are interested in playing or learning to play. For more information about this club please contact Janey at psteph@etczone.com.   • Beginning Sewing

    Register for this in-person class for Beginning Sewing with Singer Sewing Machines to learn about the machine functions, and how to start sewing. Ages 15 and older can attend this class and work with the sewing machines independently. This is a FREE class.     Please NOTE: There will be 10am Mother Goose ONLY through out JUNE and JULY. Join us every Monday for a fun filled 30 minute interactive session that uses rhymes, songs, puppets, musical instruments and more to stimulate the learning process of babies and toddlers. This program is geared towards ages 0 to 3. Help your little one grow by: Building Early Literacy Skills Encouraging Language Development Supporting Social and Emotional Growth in a low-pressure setting NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Our normal Mother Goose time will return back to Mondays at 10am or 11am on August 17, 2026.

    During the summer (June & July) there will be NO Storytime at the Library. Instead, join Miss Sarah at Liberty Park every Monday morning on the grass by the playground to spend time reading together. This will be cancelled in the event of rain. Ages: Free for kids ages 3-5 years old Location: Liberty Park Batesville, IN Time: 11-11:30am NO REGISTRATION. Our normal Storytime will return back to Tuesdays at 10am, 2pm or 6pm on August 18, 2026.

  • Intro to CRICUT Maker 4

    Register for this in-person class on Intro to Cricut Maker 4 to learn how the machine functions, start a new project, and explore the variety of projects you can complete with the Cricut machine ranging from scrapbooking to personalizing clothing items and much more. Ages 15 and older can attend this class and work with the Cricut independently. This is a FREE class.     We will be at LIBERTY PARK during this hour. Do you have a project that you need a little motivation to finish? Do you get lonely working on your projects at home? Just want a little company? Join your fellow crafters at the  Library for an afternoon of crafting and chatting. Bring your craft project(s) from home and join us for a crafty social hour!   • Design a Summer Tumbler

    Come and create a summer themed tumbler cup using the Cricut machine and Mug Heat Press. We will explore how to develop a design using the Cricut machine and then adhere a unique summer pattern to a tumbler cup. Each participant will walk away with their own personalized summer tumbler. Tumbler cups and all materials will be provided. Ages 15 and older can attend this class and work with the Cricut and Mug Heat Press independently. This is a FREE class.   • Ken Burns American Revolution Showing
