Sean Gaskell African Harp Performance
Arts and Innovation HUB 113 N Walnut Street, Batesville, IN, United StatesNO Registration. Ages: All Ages Location: Event Room (Arts & Innovation HUB) Time: 5:30PM Sean Gaskell features songs on the kora- a 21 stringed West African harp. He studied under the extensive instruction of Moriba Kuyateh and the late Malamini Jobarteh in Gambia, and both Youssoupha Cissokho and Mamadou Cissokho in Senegal. The kora is traditionally played by oral historians known as Griots. Many songs featured on the kora preserve an 800 year history dating back to the founding of the Mande empire. Gaskell has presented adult, youth and family programs at over 400 libraries and a multitude of k-12 schools, colleges, universities and assisted living facilities throughout the United States and Canada.

Join us for a welcoming 6-Week Gentle Yoga Series designed to help improve flexibility, strength, balance, and relaxation in a supportive, encouraging environment. Whether you're new to yoga or have practiced before, this class offers options to meet you where you are. Participants may choose traditional mat yoga or supportive chair yoga throughout class, allowing everyone to practice in a way that feels comfortable for their body. Each one-hour class includes gentle movement, breathing exercises, balance work, stretching, and guided relaxation to promote overall health and well-being. Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat, if available. Yoga (grippy) socks are also encouraged. Limited yoga mats will be provided for participants who need one. Ages: 15+ Location: Innovation Studio (Arts & Innovation HUB) Time: 6PM-7PM Register for this in-person class on Intro to Cricut Maker 4 to learn how the machine functions, start a new project, and explore the variety of projects you can complete with the Cricut machine ranging from scrapbooking to personalizing clothing items and much more. Ages 15 and older can attend this class and work with the Cricut independently.
