BMPL’s Summer Reading Program will start June 1 – July 19! Our Summer Reading Program is a fun reading challenge for readers of all ages, with or without a library card! To participate, download or log in to the Beanstack app using your phone or a web browser. Designed to inspire a love of daily reading, log each day you read—NO book titles needed and NO tracking your minutes. Whether it’s 20 minutes or an hour, every day counts. Read to yourself or someone else it counts! Physical books, ebooks, audiobooks, braille, or live reading from an author, it counts! Main goal: Have FUN! Earn Beanstack Badge Levels to collect virtual prize tickets, a free book, and a library t-shirt. More information click here!

ONE DAY ONLY POP UP SALE! This book sale will be held in the Library Annex from 10:00 am - 4:00pm on JULY 11, 2026. Cash, Check or Venmo ONLY. Location: Annex Building - 108 N Elm St., Batesville, IN 47006 The MISSION of the Friends are volunteers who support Batesville Library through fundraising, advocacy and providing volunteer services. Our goal is to raise money for things like books, programs, and equipment that may not be covered by the library's regular budget. What WE SPONSOR: After Hours Concerts, Children's & Adult Programming, Summer Reading Program and Furnishings for the Library. A Volksmarch (German for "people's walk") is a non-competitive, recreational walk or hike through scenic or historic areas, focusing on fitness, fun, and camaraderie; participants follow marked trails, get cards stamped at checkpoints, and enjoy nature, local culture, and sometimes refreshments. Come join us the last Tuesday of each month! This month we will meet at the park behind Beautiful World shop for an Oldenburg (History Walk). ALL AGES WELCOME Registration is REQUIRED All Children MUST be accompanied by an Adult Participants must be able to stay in between the two BMPL Guides while walking and must be able to follow all instructions while visiting special locations.
