Ripley County Reads Park Hop
Explore the beauty of Ripley County through its diverse parks! Embark on a delightful adventure with your family through the Park Hop—a scavenger hunt that takes you through awesome town parks, magical nature trails, and our own Versailles State Park. It’s like a treasure hunt, but with nature as your playground! This event runs from March 7 - May 2, 2026. Grab your passport from the Batesville Library and let the fun begin! Visit as many parks as you can that are listed on the passport, unravel the clues, and mark your passport. Bring your passport (this provides you FREE entry into the Versailles State Park the day of) and finish your journey at the Park Hop Finale on May 2nd from 11am to 1 pm at the Oak Grove Shelter, Versailles State Park for a chance to win an Indiana State Park Pass! (Your paper passport will provide you FREE entry into the Versailles State Park the day of the finale.) This year we will host the Finale alongside the Art in Nature Art Show & Artisan Demonstrations! Enjoy exciting activities, including: swag bags (first 50 kids!), watch demonstrations in glass blowing, blacksmithing, and basketmaking, and hands-on art experiences – try pottery, wood-turning, marble art and more. Imagine all the adventures waiting for you and your family. Don’t miss this FREE fun-filled event for the whole family! Felting Class
Meeting Room A 131 N. Walnut St., Batesville, IN, United StatesFelting is one of the oldest forms of textile arts. Needle felting begins by rolling a small amount of wool and stabbing it with a needle. It is a quick hobby to learn, and many find it stress-relieving. We will be making a flower broach. Join us to make chalk rockets. We will be using old film canisters, sidewalk chalk, and alka-seltzer tablets. This program, will be outside and may be cancelled due to weather. Ukulele Club
Activity Lab 131 N. Walnut St., Batesville, IN, United StatesThe Ukulele Club is a club for anyone who plays or wants to learn how to play the Ukulele. We have fun singing and playing all kinds of music! Music sheets are provided. The Ukulele Club meets in the (Activity Lab located in the children's area) of the library every 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month, from 6:30 - 7:30pm. Patriotic Flowers
Join us for this month's craft class and create charming patriotic flowers in a mini watering can. You'll be ready for Memorial Day and can use them all summer to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States. All materials will be provided and you will follow along with step-by-step instructions. The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) empowers tweens/teens to make their voices heard at the library. TAB members help shape teen programs, suggest new materials, promote library events, and create a welcoming, inclusive space for all young people in the community.
