  • BMPL TINY ART SHOW

    Circulation Desk

    Participate in Batesville's 3rd annual Tiny Art Show.  A Tiny Art Show is a pop-up exhibit featuring tiny art created on 4x4 inch canvas. You may create your tiny art in any medium of your choice. Pick up your FREE canvas from BMPL on or after February 1st, while supplies last. Return to the library NO LATER than February 28 (with your information card) to be displayed and voted on in March. The people's choice in each category (12 & under, 13 & above) will win Chamber Bucks! Artists can pick up work and an easel for home display on April 1st.   VOTING will begin on March 1st. Anyone can STOP by the circulation desk to pick up a ballot and drop in the bucket provided. 1 VOTE per visit. Voting is The People's Choice in each category (12 & under, 13 & above) will win Chamber Bucks! Artists can pick up their work and an easel for home display on April 1st. *BMPL reserves the right to exclude any submissions.

  • Kids Nature Paint Brush TAKE & MAKE

    This is a TAKE & MAKE program ONLY. You must be able to stop by the library during the Week of July 8 - 13th to pick up your bag. If Bag is not picked up by July 13th. They will be sat out for other patrons to take. Have some fun painting with nature paint brushes!  Your TAKE & MAKE bag will have paint and paper, along with instructions for you to make your own brushes from cool things in nature! This project is for children ages 4 - 8. Registration is required. Please sign your child(ren) up below. Stop by the library during the Week of July 8 - 13th to pick up.

  • Traveling Planetarium at BMPL

    What is a planetarium? The Drake Planetarium & Science Center’s Traveling Explorer Show comes directly to you. This program is the perfect way to provide you and your family with a truly immersive experience by presenting with sights and sounds at every angle.  Drake Planetarium & Science Center will have their state-of-the-art, inflatable Explorer Dome at BMPL. Our Drake Planetarium instructors are trained and endorsed by NASA Glenn Research Center for Education Department. They will be speaking about Eclipses, Tides, & Our Moon during the presentation to coincide with the solar eclipse happening on April 8th. The Explorer Dome provides the perfect atmosphere for teaching and lively discussions that support learning in science, technology, engineering, and math. You bring the thirst for knowledge and we’ll give you outstanding instruction and a valuable experience. We recommend grades 1st through Adult with the presentation that will be provided. Brought to you by: The Joan and John W. Hillenbrand VISION Fund for Innovation, Batesville Memorial Public Library, Genesis Pathways to Success & Drake Planetarium & Science Center. PLEASE NOTE: Choose a time slot that works for you or your family below and register YOUR LAST NAME AND HOW MANY WILL BE ENTERING THE PLANETARIUM. PLEASE SIGN UP EACH PERSON IN YOUR PARTY THAT WOULD LIKE TO ENTER THE PLANETARIUM. (If you have more than one person in your family that would like to enter, you need to register EACH person.)  Each time slot is for a 30 minute presentation session. The dome will hold 25 people.

    BMPL'a 2024 Winter Reading Program has STARTED! This challenge END 2/12/2024. This is a fun 4 week reading challenge for ALL ages.  You do NOT need to have a BMPL library card to participate.  For this challenge YOU WILL NEED to DOWNLOAD THE BEANSTACK APP on a device (we use this app for all of our reading challenges) or click the link https://ebatesville.beanstack.com/reader365 to use the desktop version of Beanstack.
