Economics Plain & Simple: Government Functions
BMPL Annex 10 West Boehringer Street, Batesville, IN, United StatesControversies have raged worldwide for more than a century on the role that government should play in the economy. We will try to sort those arguments. Learning economics need not be so confusing as many of the concepts are fairly straightforward. This course aims to explain key economic principles in plain English, rather than economic jargon, and without all of the charts, graphs, and equations that make economics so complicated. This course will use real-life examples to which many, if not all of us, can relate. Instructor Marc Cerniglia has over 30 years of business experience working in industry, financial markets, and consulting, and has owned his own consulting business for the past 24 years. He has taught economics to high school seniors and is a former U.S. Army officer. Mr. Cerniglia holds a B.S. from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia.

Flower Pomanders – Adult Craft
Meeting Room A 131 N. Walnut St., Batesville, IN, United StatesThese flower pomanders offer versatile display options, whether suspended, nestled on a stand, featured in a centerpiece, or even grasped by a handle. Pomander balls trace their origins to medieval times when personal perfumes were necessary without deodorants and modern toothpaste. Concerns about odors causing illness led people to carry satchels filled with fragrant herbs, spices, and flowers. Those with limited resources relied on garden-grown treasures like rosemary, mint, lavender, or roses, while those more affluent indulged in adding exotic spices. Over time, these aromatic satchels transitioned from personal accessories to household accents. Those with means adorned their homes with bowls or sachets of these delightful scents, transforming their living spaces into fragrant havens. This is a FREE BMPL Program. Join us in creating one. This is an Adult craft. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. SIGN UP BELOW.
