Join us for a fun filled 45 minute session that incorporates books, songs, & activities to build early literacy skills. Storytime helps your pre-schooler grow by: Listening to stories, singing songs, and learning rhymes help children develop vocabulary, comprehension, and a love for reading. Storytime gives little ones a chance to meet other children, practice sharing and listening, and build confidence in a group setting. Sharing stories together creates special moments and helps parents learn fun ways to support early learning at home. NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED. This program is geared toward children ages 3 – 5.

Little ones will explore their creativity by painting over a taped letter on canvas to reveal a colorful design underneath. A fun, hands-on activity perfect for young artists! Felting is one of the oldest forms of textile arts. Needle felting begins by rolling a small amount of wool and stabbing it with a needle. It is a quick hobby to learn, and many find it stress-relieving. Join us in February to make wool dryer balls! This is a great time to try needle felting if you’ve never been before. What are "dyer balls"? Reusable natural balls that you toss in the dryer with wet clothes to naturally soften fabric, reduce static, decrease wrinkles, and shorten drying time. If you are already familiar with needle felting, you will be able to continue to expand your skills with new technique and design. All material will be supplied. It's another Eli's Dog Club Meeting! Join us for Date Night with Nanny. A Valentine's Day show will be playing in the meeting room with popcorn. Come any time in the hour to have some fun and read to Nanny the Dog! This program is geared towards ages 6-11 years old. COME AND GO AS YOU PLEASE.
The Ukulele Club is a club for anyone who plays or wants to learn how to play the Ukulele. We have fun singing and playing all kinds of music! Music sheets are provided. The Ukulele Club meets in the (Activity Lab located in the children's area) of the library every 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month, from 6:30 - 7:30pm. Design a beautiful heart-shaped window ornament using colorful glass fragments. Participants will arrange pieces inside a heart frame to create a stained-glass–style decoration that sparkles in the light. No experience needed—just creativity! All supplies will be provided. A suggested donation helps keep our library programs thriving, so we can continue bringing learning, creativity, and community together for everyone. The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) empowers teens to make their voices heard at the library. Philosopher Dr. Lindsey Stewart’s book, The Conjuring of America: Mojos, Mermaids, Medicine, and 400 Years of Black Women’s Magic, tells the stories of Negro Mammies of slavery; the Voodoo Queens and Blues Women of Reconstruction; and the Granny Midwives and textile weavers of the Jim Crow era. These women, in secrecy and subterfuge, courageously and devotedly continued their practices and worship for centuries and passed down their traditions. This book is a love letter to the real magic Black women used, their herbs, food, textiles, song, and dance, used to sow rebellion, freedom, and hope. Gather each month with other like-minded family history enthusiasts. Each month we will explore a different topic. This program will run from 1-3PM. This month is: Discover how to preserve memories and stories to create connections with those you love and reminisce about the past. Photos are powerful tools for bringing those memories to life. "Reminiscence therapy" is a therapeutic approach that uses guided conversations and photos to improve mood, communication and well-being. Rick Voight will talk with us over Zoom about this therapy.
