Want to help us decorate for Summer Reading?  Sign up below to paint the outside of our library windows!  This year’s theme is Color Our World. The possibilities are endless. We will supply the paint and brushes. YOU MUST STOP BY THE LIBRARY FOR A PLANNING SHEET PRIOR TO THE PROGRAM DATE – OR – you can sketch out your idea on white computer paper. You must have something drawn to show us for approval before you begin painting. We will have a 3ft x 3 ft square outlined with painters tape. That will be your work area! You only have 1 hour for your allotted time slot so PLEASE really think about what it is you would like to paint. We will be here to help as well. Your work will be displayed all summer!  This program is for children in 3rd to 12th grade and registration is required.  PLEASE CHOOSE WHICH TIME SLOT YOU WOULD LIKE AND COMPLETE THE REGISTRATION FORM BELOW.  

The Ukulele Club is a club for anyone who plays or wants to learn how to play the Ukulele. We have fun singing and playing all kinds of music! Music sheets are provided. The Ukulele Club meets in the (Activity Lab located in the children's area) of the library every 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month, from 6:30 - 7:30pm. Batesville Library has FREE Ukuleles for checkout if you are interested in playing or learning to play. For more information about this club please contact Janey at psteph@etczone.com. This club is ran by community members. NO REGISTRATION.

This program is cancelled today due to weather. Get Outdoors Around the World Challenge! THIS MONTH OUR COUNTRY IS MEXICO! WE WILL GET WET!!! Water balloon pinatas and the Mexican hat game, come play and enjoy the outdoors! Participants will meet in the Reading Garden at Batesville Library. WE WILL USE your email for updates & possible changes due to weather. Reap the benefits of outdoor play with Batesville Library's Get Outdoors Around the WORLD challenge. This program is designed to give your family ideas to get outdoors more. There will be MONTHLY PROGRAMS/CHALLENGES with the focus on what other Countries do "outdoors" to have fun. After REGISTERING your family below you will receive a cinch sack, journal, tracker sheet and PASSPORT at the program if you have not received your just ask. You can join anytime throughout the year. Passports will be stamped anytime at the library. At each program participants will get a "Country" with a list of outdoor tasks to complete. Once ALL the tasks are complete for that Country, bring your sheet and Passport into the library to get stamped and pick up your small prize. **By registering, you will receive a few emails listing other outdoor events around the area from local parks and other community groups. Challenge runs from JANUARY 1 to December 1, 2025. We will have a special gathering at the END of the challenge for all who try to complete the challenge. REGISTER below by FAMILY name and # number of family members participating. Each month you will need to register for the next program.

THIS SHOW HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR TONIGHT. Eli‘s dog club presents Oliver the Trick Dog! Join us for a night of fun with Oliver the Dog who can do tricks!! NO REGISTRATION. This show will be at 5 - 6pm which is right before our 6:00 Storytime at Batesville Library in the Activity Lab. Feel free to stay for storytime! RECOMMENDED AGE FOR THIS PROGRAM IS Pre-K through 2nd grade.

Our normal Mother Goose time will return back to 10am or 11am on September 8, 2025.

During the summer (June & July) there will be NO Storytime at the Library.  Join Miss Sarah at Liberty Park on the grass by the playground on MONDAYS from 11am - 11:30am to spend 30 minutes reading, singing, and dancing together! NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED. This program is geared toward children ages 3 - 6.

We recommend bringing a swimsuit or light clothing, googles for those with sensitive eyes, water shoes or back strap sandals, and a towel to dry off after 45 minutes of music and fun in the foam!  This program is geared towards children ages 8 and under. THIS REGISTRATION IS FOR THE 11:00AM FOAM PARTY. PLEASE NOTE THE TIME YOU SIGN UP FOR. Registration is required below. Recommended ages is 2nd grade and under. Please Register with the LAST NAME of your FAMILY and enter in the NUMBER attending the program. PLEASE NOTE: This is anyone that will be participating.

JUNE 3rd we will be discussing "The Book of Three" by Lloyd Alexander, the book we read in MAY. Participants will also receive the next book we will be reading for JUNE which is "Merci Suarez" by Meg Medina. "Merci Suarez" summary from Amazon.com: Merci Suárez knew that sixth grade would be different, but she had no idea just how different. For starters, as strong and thoughtful as Merci is, she has never been completely like the other kids at her private school in Florida, because she and her older brother, Roli, are scholarship students. They don’t have a big house or a fancy boat, and they have to do extra community service to make up for their free tuition. So when bossy Edna Santos sets her sights on the new boy who happens to be Merci’s school-assigned Sunshine Buddy, Merci becomes the target of Edna’s jealousy. Things aren't going well at home, either: Merci’s grandfather and most trusted ally, Lolo, has been acting strangely lately — forgetting important things, falling from his bike, and getting angry over nothing.
