Banzi Balloon artist Brian will have a fun, interactive discussion on color and art and all participants will learn to make their own balloon creation. In the style of Wassily Kandinsky participants will create a unique painting using oil pastels and watercolor paint in beautiful bright colors. This FREE program is for grades Pre-K - 2nd. This program is geared towards ages 0 to 3. The SUMMER session of Mother Goose is 10AM ONLY for JUNE & JULY at the Library. NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Our normal Mother Goose time will return back to 10am or 11am on September 8, 2025.

During the summer (June & July) there will be NO Storytime at the Library. Join Miss Sarah at Liberty Park on the nice pad by the playground on MONDAYS at 11:00am. Listen to a few fun stories. NO REGISTRATION. This program is geared toward children ages 3 - 6.

Join us for a meet and greet with Iditarod musher Karen Land and her Alaskan Husky Noggin!  Karen will talk about her dog mushing career, have her Iditarod dog sled gear, and will give everyone time to love on Noggin!  We will finish the visit with a Northern Lights craft for the kids!  This program is geared towards kids 4-12 and registration is required. The Ukulele Club is a club for anyone who plays or wants to learn how to play the Ukulele. We have fun singing and playing all kinds of music! Music sheets are provided. The Ukulele Club meets in the (Activity Lab located in the children's area) of the library every 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month, from 6:30 - 7:30pm. Batesville Library has FREE Ukuleles for checkout if you are interested in playing or learning to play. For more information about this club please contact Janey at psteph@etczone.com. This club is ran by community members. NO REGISTRATION.

Local Author Tracy Habig-Wafford will be at BMPL to launch and read her NEW children's book "Rockin’ B Ranch" at 12:00pm. She will be hanging out with us from NOON - 2:00pm in the Activity Lab after reading her book. Stop by the library and enjoy a reading by a talented local author! It’s a great chance to hear their story come to life and ask questions about their writing process. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with a writer right from our own community! NO registration just stop by with the kids.

Get Outdoors Around the World Challenge! THIS MONTH OUR COUNTRY IS AUSTRALIA! Boomerangs!! Come play and enjoy the outdoors! Participants will meet at Liberty Park. This is a change in location. WE WILL USE your email for updates & possible changes due to weather. Reap the benefits of outdoor play with Batesville Library's Get Outdoors Around the WORLD challenge. This program is designed to give your family ideas to get outdoors more. There will be MONTHLY PROGRAMS/CHALLENGES with the focus on what other Countries do "outdoors" to have fun. After REGISTERING your family below you will receive a cinch sack, journal, tracker sheet and PASSPORT at the program if you have not received your just ask. You can join anytime throughout the year. Passports will be stamped anytime at the library. At each program participants will get a "Country" with a list of outdoor tasks to complete. Once ALL the tasks are complete for that Country, bring your sheet and Passport into the library to get stamped and pick up your small prize. **By registering, you will receive a few emails listing other outdoor events around the area from local parks and other community groups. Challenge runs from JANUARY 1 to December 1, 2025. We will have a special gathering at the END of the challenge for all who try to complete the challenge. REGISTER below by FAMILY name and # number of family members participating. Each month you will need to register for the next program.

JULY 1st we will be discussing “Merci Suarez” by Meg Medina, the book we read in JUNE. Participants will also receive the next book we will be reading for JULY which is “The One and Only Ivan” by Katherine Applegate. “The One and Only Ivan” summary from Amazon.com: The power of unexpected friendships.
