November 5th we will be discussing A WRINKLE IN TIME by Madeleine L'Engle, the book we read in October. Participants will also receive the next book we will be reading for November which is THE YEAR OF MISS AGNES by Kirkpatrick Hill. THE YEAR OF MISS AGNES summary from Amazon.com: Ten-year-old Frederika (Fred for short) doesn't have much faith that the new teacher in town will last very long. After all, they never do. Most teachers who come to their one-room schoolhouse in remote, Alaska leave at the first smell of fish, claiming that life there is just too hard. But Miss Agnes is different -- she doesn't get frustrated with her students, and she throws away old textbooks and reads Robin Hood instead! Come and enjoy the results of the five session life drawing class. See the finished results and celebrate the beauty of art! Open viewing for the community! Come and take a look at the process and progress this class has made! COME CELEBRATE WITH US! Life drawing is accessible to all, fun and rewarding. It helps participants see the world with an artist’s eye. It teaches hand-eye coordination, hones observational skills, and does wonders for relaxation through releasing attachment to perfection and finding a new connection within our brain. In- Person Puzzle Swap Attention all puzzle enthusiasts! You are invited to our upcoming Puzzle Swap the WHOLE week of November 11 - 16, 2024! This is a fantastic opportunity for community members to exchange puzzles they’ve already conquered for fresh challenges. Here’s what you need to know: Date: November 11 - 16, 2024 Time: 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM  (Monday through Thursday) or 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Friday ) or 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Saturday) Location: Batesville Memorial Public Library (tables will be set up in front of the stained glass windows inside) How It Works: Bring Puzzles: Gather any puzzles you’ve completed and are ready to pass on. Swap: Choose from a variety of puzzles brought in by other participants or donated by Batesville Memorial Public Library. Enjoy: Take your new puzzles home and enjoy hours of fun! Guidelines: Puzzles should be complete with no missing pieces. All puzzle sizes and difficulties are welcome. This event is free and open to all ages.
