  • SUMMER Stories at the PARK

    Liberty Park

    During the summer (June & July) there will be NO Storytime at the Library. Instead, join Miss Sarah at Liberty Park every Monday morning on the grass by the playground to spend time reading together. This will be cancelled in the event of rain. Ages: Free for kids ages 3-5 years old Location: Liberty Park Batesville, IN Time: 11-11:30am NO REGISTRATION. Our normal Storytime will return back to Tuesdays at 10am, 2pm or 6pm on August 18, 2026.

    A celebration of words surrounding the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, hosted by Professor Emeritus Ron Nicholson. Featuring the words and wisdom of: Henry Longfellow, Robert Frost, Patrick Henry, President Reagan, Walt Whitman, Maya Angelou, Emma Lazarus, President Lincoln, and Oliver Wendell Holmes. Enjoy this 60-minute lecture with poems and speeches, fun facts, and background tidbits about our national canon of literature. All ages welcome!   • Outdoors More Volksmarch

    A Volksmarch (German for "people's walk") is a non-competitive, recreational walk or hike through scenic or historic areas, focusing on fitness, fun, and camaraderie; participants follow marked trails, get cards stamped at checkpoints, and enjoy nature, local culture, and sometimes refreshments. Come join us the last Tuesday of each month! This month we will meet at the park behind Beautiful World shop for an Oldenburg (History Walk). ALL AGES WELCOME Registration is REQUIRED All Children MUST be accompanied by an Adult Participants must be able to stay in between the two BMPL Guides while walking and must be able to follow all instructions while visiting special locations.
