  • Summer Reading Begins

    BMPL’s Summer Reading Program will start June 1 – July 19! Our Summer Reading Program is a fun reading challenge for readers of all ages, with or without a library card! To participate, download or log in to the Beanstack app using your phone or a web browser. Designed to inspire a love of daily reading, log each day you read—NO book titles needed and NO tracking your minutes. Whether it’s 20 minutes or an hour, every day counts. Read to yourself or someone else it counts! Physical books, ebooks, audiobooks, braille, or live reading from an author, it counts! Main goal: Have FUN! Earn Beanstack Badge Levels to collect virtual prize tickets, a free book, and a library t-shirt. More information click here!

  • Mother Goose 10AM ONLY

    Activity Lab 131 N. Walnut St., Batesville, IN, United States

    Please NOTE: There will be 10am Mother Goose ONLY through out JUNE and JULY. Join us every Monday for a fun filled 30 minute interactive session that uses rhymes, songs, puppets, musical instruments and more to stimulate the learning process of babies and toddlers. This program is geared towards ages 0 to 3. Help your little one grow by: Building Early Literacy Skills Encouraging Language Development Supporting Social and Emotional Growth in a low-pressure setting NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Our normal Mother Goose time will return back to Mondays at 10am or 11am on August 17, 2026.

  • SUMMER Stories at the PARK

    Liberty Park

    During the summer (June & July) there will be NO Storytime at the Library. Instead, join Miss Sarah at Liberty Park every Monday morning on the grass by the playground to spend time reading together. This will be cancelled in the event of rain. Ages: Free for kids ages 3-5 years old Location: Liberty Park Batesville, IN Time: 11-11:30am NO REGISTRATION. Our normal Storytime will return back to Tuesdays at 10am, 2pm or 6pm on August 18, 2026.

  • Littles Dino Dig 11AM

    This registration is for the 11AM program. Join Miss Sarah for a Dino Storytime and dig for dinosaur bones! Ages: Free for kids ages 3-5 years old Location: Outside (incase of rain Event Room Arts & Innovation HUB) Time: 11-11:45am Registration is required. Please sign your child(ren) up.     Join us for an interactive and fun balloon art program! Banzi Balloon artist Brian will have a fun, interactive discussion on dinosaurs with stories and fun facts. Together, we will then create a balloon sculpture for display at our library! Ages: Geared towards children ages 3-12.     Join us at Batesville Memorial Public Library for an AMAZING Magic Show from CR Ryan and Son Magicians. This is a 45 minute show for ALL ages. Ages: Free for ALL ages.   • Button Making for Kids

    Drop in anytime between 10am and 12pm to make a 4th of JULY themed button! Miss Sarah will be set up under the pergola at the Library with papers, coloring items and our button makers.     A Volksmarch (German for "people's walk") is a non-competitive, recreational walk or hike through scenic or historic areas, focusing on fitness, fun, and camaraderie; participants follow marked trails, get cards stamped at checkpoints, and enjoy nature, local culture, and sometimes refreshments. Come join us the last Tuesday of each month! This month we will meet at the parking lot across from Weigels Funeral Home for a Batesville (History Walk). ALL AGES WELCOME Registration is REQUIRED All Children MUST be accompanied by an Adult Participants must be able to stay in between the two BMPL Guides while walking and must be able to follow all instructions while visiting special locations.
