Ages: Free for kids ages 12-17 years old Location: Meeting Room A Time: 4:15-5pm The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) empowers tweens/teens to make their voices heard at the library. TAB members help shape teen programs, suggest new materials, promote library events, and create a welcoming, inclusive space for all young people in the community. By joining, you as a teen can build leadership skills, earn volunteer hours, and make a real impact on our community. It’s a fun way to get involved, meet new friends, and help create a library that reflects what teens truly want.

  • Sean Gaskell African Harp Performance

    Arts and Innovation HUB 113 N Walnut Street, Batesville, IN, United States

    NO Registration. Ages: All Ages Location: Event Room (Arts & Innovation HUB) Time: 5:30PM Sean Gaskell features songs on the kora- a 21 stringed West African harp. He studied under the extensive instruction of Moriba Kuyateh and the late Malamini Jobarteh in Gambia, and both Youssoupha Cissokho and Mamadou Cissokho in Senegal. The kora is traditionally played by oral historians known as Griots. Many songs featured on the kora preserve an 800 year history dating back to the founding of the Mande empire. Gaskell has presented adult, youth and family programs at over 400 libraries and a multitude of k-12 schools, colleges, universities and assisted living facilities throughout the United States and Canada.

    Ages: Teens & Adults Time: 6-8pm Location: Meeting Room A No Registration. Just show up!   Whether you're picking up a camera for the first time or have years of experience behind the lens, you're invited to join the new Photography Club at Batesville Public Library! This club is open to adults and teenagers of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced photographers. Bring your favorite photos to share with the group, receive constructive feedback, or simply enjoy seeing the work of others. Photos may be presented in printed or electronic formats. The club will be shaped by its members. Participants will help determine future meeting topics, making this a great opportunity to learn new techniques, explore different photography styles, and connect with fellow photography enthusiasts.
