It's the perfect opportunity to exchange your extra plants, meet fellow gardening enthusiasts, and add some new greenery to your collection. Here's how it works: 🌿 How It Works: Bring Your Perennials: Gather any extra perennial plants you have from your garden. Don't worry if you're a newbie - everyone's welcome! you can drop these off at the Library starting Thursday, May 8th during hours. Swap and Share: On Saturday, May 10th (10AM - 12PM), a table will be set up under the Pergola outside of the Library. Browse through the offerings and pick out new plants to take home. Connect with Fellow Gardeners: Share your gardening tips, tricks, and stories with other plant lovers in our friendly community. 🌺 Why Join in the Event? Expand Your Garden: Discover unique perennial varieties you might not find anywhere else. Community Connection: Connect with like-minded individuals who share your passion for gardening.   • Get Outdoors Around the World Challenge — Family FUN

    Get Outdoors Around the World Challenge! Kick Off Event Reap the benefits of outdoor play with Batesville Library's Get Outdoors Around the WORLD challenge. This program is designed to give your family ideas to get outdoors more. There will be MONTHLY PROGRAMS/CHALLENGES with the focus on what other Countries do "outdoors" to have fun. After REGISTERING your family below you will receive a cinch sack, journal, tracker sheet and PASSPORT at the first program. Our first program in will January 9, 2025. We will make a pinecone bird feeder, have a snack and learn about this year's challenge. Passports will be stamped anytime at the library. At each program participants will get a "Country" with a list of outdoor tasks to complete. Once ALL the tasks are complete for that Country, bring your sheet and Passport into the library to get stamped and pick up your small prize. **By registering, you will receive a few emails listing other outdoor events around the area from local parks and other community groups. Challenge runs from JANUARY 1 to December 1, 2025. We will have a special gathering at the END of the challenge for all who try to complete the challenge. REGISTER below by FAMILY name and # number of family members participating. Each month you will need to register for the next program.

    Join us as we welcome McKay Petting Zoo to the library! They will be set up with their farm animals outside the library from 11am until 1pm. Stop by and say hi to the animals, even pet a few. Come and go as you please. Registration is not required, but please know that you may have to wait.  This will be cancelled if there is rain.

Emily Ann Thompson's rich sound, energetic style, & passionate playing has made her an audience favorite. Being a performer of many styles (Celtic, classical, rock, & other world music), her diverse musical background comes out in her fresh and unique solos.  Her main jazz influences include Stephane Grappelli, John Coltrane, Oscar Peterson, Mark O’Connor, and Sarah Caswell, the latter two with whom she has studied.
