  • Get Outdoors Around the World Challenge — Family FUN

    Freedom Park

    Get Outdoors Around the World Challenge! THIS MONTH OUR COUNTRY IS FRANCE! Participants will meet at Freedom Park for some outdoor winter games. WE WILL USE your email for updates & possible changes due to weather. Reap the benefits of outdoor play with Batesville Library's Get Outdoors Around the WORLD challenge. This program is designed to give your family ideas to get outdoors more. There will be MONTHLY PROGRAMS/CHALLENGES with the focus on what other Countries do "outdoors" to have fun. After REGISTERING your family below you will receive a cinch sack, journal, tracker sheet and PASSPORT at the program if you have not received your just ask. This is our 2nd program. You can join anytime throughout the year. Our country we will focus on is France.  Passports will be stamped anytime at the library. At each program participants will get a "Country" with a list of outdoor tasks to complete. Once ALL the tasks are complete for that Country, bring your sheet and Passport into the library to get stamped and pick up your small prize. **By registering, you will receive a few emails listing other outdoor events around the area from local parks and other community groups. Challenge runs from JANUARY 1 to December 1, 2025. We will have a special gathering at the END of the challenge for all who try to complete the challenge. REGISTER below by FAMILY name and # number of family members participating. Each month you will need to register for the next program.

  • Author Visit: Deb McIntyre

    Join Deb McIntyre at Batesville Library. She will discuss her newly released book, A Wishful Eye. The novel takes place in Ripley and Jefferson counties in Indiana and central and northern Kentucky during the last half of 1849 and centers around the Underground Railroad. Deb will read from her work and answer questions. She will also be available after the program if you would like to purchase a copy or have a copy signed.
