  • BMPL TINY ART SHOW

    Circulation Desk

    Participate in Batesville's 4th annual Tiny Art Show.  A Tiny Art Show is a pop-up exhibit featuring tiny art created on 4x4 inch canvas. You may create your tiny art in any medium and topic of your choice. Pick up your FREE canvas from BMPL on or after February 2nd, while supplies last. Return your completed canvas back to the library NO LATER than February 28 (with your information card) to be displayed and voted on in March. The people's choice in each category (12 & under, 13 & above) will win Chamber Bucks! Artists can pick up work and an easel for home display on April 1st. VOTING will begin on March 1st. Anyone can STOP by the circulation desk to pick up a ballot and drop in the bucket provided. 1 VOTE per visit. Voting is The People's Choice in each category (12 & under, 13 & above) will win Chamber Bucks!     This registration is for the 10AM program. Join us for a 30-minute Littles Craft at the library! Little ones will explore their creativity by painting over a taped letter on canvas to reveal a colorful design underneath. A fun, hands-on activity perfect for young artists!   • Felting Class

    Meeting Room A 131 N. Walnut St., Batesville, IN, United States

    Felting is one of the oldest forms of textile arts. Needle felting begins by rolling a small amount of wool and stabbing it with a needle. It is a quick hobby to learn, and many find it stress-relieving. Join us in February to make wool dryer balls! This is a great time to try needle felting if you’ve never been before. What are "dyer balls"? Reusable natural balls that you toss in the dryer with wet clothes to naturally soften fabric, reduce static, decrease wrinkles, and shorten drying time. If you are already familiar with needle felting, you will be able to continue to expand your skills with new technique and design. All material will be supplied. We will meet inside the library (ROOM A). Please join us for this NO cost adult program (18 years and older). Join at any time. Registration is REQUIRED for this program. Fill out the form below.

    The Ukulele Club is a club for anyone who plays or wants to learn how to play the Ukulele. We have fun singing and playing all kinds of music! Music sheets are provided. The Ukulele Club meets in the (Activity Lab located in the children's area) of the library every 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month, from 6:30 - 7:30pm.   • Glass Heart Adult Craft

    Design a beautiful heart-shaped window ornament using colorful glass fragments. Participants will arrange pieces inside a heart frame to create a stained-glass–style decoration that sparkles in the light. No experience needed—just creativity! All supplies will be provided. A suggested donation helps keep our library programs thriving, so we can continue bringing learning, creativity, and community together for everyone. This month is: Discover how to preserve memories and stories to create connections with those you love and reminisce about the past. Photos are powerful tools for bringing those memories to life. "Reminiscence therapy" is a therapeutic approach that uses guided conversations and photos to improve mood, communication and well-being. Rick Voight will talk with us over Zoom about this therapy.     A Volksmarch (German for "people's walk") is a non-competitive, recreational walk or hike through scenic or historic areas, focusing on fitness, fun, and camaraderie; participants follow marked trails, get cards stamped at checkpoints, and enjoy nature, local culture, and sometimes refreshments. Come join us the last Tuesday of each month! This month we will meet Brum Woods (Paved Parking lot entrance on Mulberry Street) ALL AGES WELCOME Registration is REQUIRED All Children MUST be accompanied by an Adult Participants must be able to stay in between the two BMPL Guides while walking and must be able to follow all instructions while visiting special locations.
