How our Reading Dragons program works.
Do you like trading cards? Do you love books like dragons love gold? Then the Reading Dragons program at the Batesville Memorial Public Library is for you! This reading program will run from September through April every year.
What is a Reading Dragon? Reading Dragons is a free card game-based reading incentive program that encourages children ages 5 and up to read for fun. Each box on the tracker = 30 minutes for reading. Participants can track their reading, collect dragon trading cards, and play card games, all while learning good reading habits and gaining a lifelong love of reading! This is a collaborative national reading program created by the Dover Public Library.
How Does It Work?
- Stop by the Library to pick up a reading tracker and starter cards
- Use your tracker to keep tabs on your reading and earn a family of dragon cards for every 2 hours spent reading.
What Do I Do With My Cards?
Build your collection and use your dragon cards to play the Reading Dragons card game with friends. Instructions for the card game are included with your paper tracker.
