White\, author of Charlotte’s Web and Stuart Little\, about overcoming obstacles and the joy of music.  \n\n\n\nLike the rest of his family\, Louis is a trumpeter swan. But unlike his four brothers and sisters\, Louis can’t trumpet joyfully. In fact\, he can’t even make a sound. And since he can’t trumpet his love\, the beautiful swan Serena pays absolutely no attention to him. \nLouis tries everything he can think of to win Serena’s affection—he even goes to school to learn to read and write. But nothing seems to work. Then his father steals him a real brass trumpet. Is a musical instrument the key to winning Louis his love? \n\n\n\n\nParticipants will read the book for that month and discuss it the following month. DESCRIPTION:Felting is one of the oldest forms of textile arts. Needle felting is begun by rolling a small amount of wool and stabbing it with the needle. It is a quick hobby to learn\, and many find it stress-relieving. \nThis month\, we will be making Valentine Hearts\, which will combine two skills we’ve learned\, three dimensional felting and applique ! WE WILL USE your email for updates & possible changes due to weather.\nReap the benefits of outdoor play with Batesville Library’s Get Outdoors Around the WORLD challenge. This program is designed to give your family ideas to get outdoors more. There will be MONTHLY PROGRAMS/CHALLENGES with the focus on what other Countries do “outdoors” to have fun. \nAfter REGISTERING your family below you will receive a cinch sack\, journal\, tracker sheet and PASSPORT at the program if you have not received your just ask. This is our 2nd program. You can join anytime throughout the year. Our country we will focus on is France. \nPassports will be stamped anytime at the library. At each program participants will get a “Country” with a list of outdoor tasks to complete. Once ALL the tasks are complete for that Country\, bring your sheet and Passport into the library to get stamped and pick up your small prize. \n**By registering\, you will receive a few emails listing other outdoor events around the area from local parks and other community groups. \nChallenge runs from JANUARY 1 to December 1\, 2025. \nWe will have a special gathering at the END of the challenge for all who try to complete the challenge. \nREGISTER below by FAMILY name and # number of family members participating.
