Participants will also receive the next book we will be reading for February which is The Trumpet of the Swan by E.B. White.\n\n\nThe Trumpet of the Swan summary from Amazon.com: \nThe delightful classic by E. B. White\, author of Charlotte’s Web and Stuart Little\, about overcoming obstacles and the joy of music.  \n\n\n\nLike the rest of his family\, Louis is a trumpeter swan. But unlike his four brothers and sisters\, Louis can’t trumpet joyfully. In fact\, he can’t even make a sound. And since he can’t trumpet his love\, the beautiful swan Serena pays absolutely no attention to him. \nLouis tries everything he can think of to win Serena’s affection—he even goes to school to learn to read and write. But nothing seems to work. Then his father steals him a real brass trumpet. Is a musical instrument the key to winning Louis his love? \n\n\n\n\nParticipants will read the book for that month and discuss it the following month. DESCRIPTION:Get Outdoors Around the World Challenge!\nTHIS MONTH OUR COUNTRY IS FRANCE! Participants will meet at Freedom Park for some outdoor winter games. WE WILL USE your email for updates & possible changes due to weather.\nReap the benefits of outdoor play with Batesville Library’s Get Outdoors Around the WORLD challenge. This program is designed to give your family ideas to get outdoors more. There will be MONTHLY PROGRAMS/CHALLENGES with the focus on what other Countries do “outdoors” to have fun. \nAfter REGISTERING your family below you will receive a cinch sack\, journal\, tracker sheet and PASSPORT at the program if you have not received your just ask. This is our 2nd program. You can join anytime throughout the year. Our country we will focus on is France. \nPassports will be stamped anytime at the library. At each program participants will get a “Country” with a list of outdoor tasks to complete. Once ALL the tasks are complete for that Country\, bring your sheet and Passport into the library to get stamped and pick up your small prize. \n**By registering\, you will receive a few emails listing other outdoor events around the area from local parks and other community groups. \nChallenge runs from JANUARY 1 to December 1\, 2025. \nWe will have a special gathering at the END of the challenge for all who try to complete the challenge. \nREGISTER below by FAMILY name and # number of family members participating. Each month you will need to register for the next program.
