The Friends of the Batesville Memorial Public Library meet on the first Wednesday of most months at 5:00 PM. Meetings are open to the public.

Slime Science

Registration is required.

Join us for Slime Science! We will be making Glow In The Dark Space Slime and Magnetic Galaxy Slime. Ages 3rd – 8th grade. Registration is required.

Ripley County Reads: “First Man” @ the Bel Air Drive In

Little Sprouts Garden Club

Registration is required.

Introducing young students to the technique of Straw Bale Gardening. With Sandra Dickey, Denean Williams, and Sr. Charity. This month’s meeting will go over the thinning of plants. Program includes a sock buddy craft and a snack along with a story about plants. Ages: Kindergarten – 2nd Grade.

Galaxy Night Light” Participants will receive a sunbeam LED night light with an off/off switch. They will remove the cover of the night light and replace it will a Christmas ornament that they have decorated with markers to create a galaxy of colors. Ages 3rd – 8th grade.

Human Trafficking 101

Join us in welcoming Meagan Arthur of ITVAP (Indiana Trafficking Victims Assistance Program). Meagan will be giving an overview of Human Trafficking, including: What is Human Trafficking? How to recognize the signs of human trafficking? How to report human trafficking?

Magic Club

Interested in learning the fun of magic? The Batesville Memorial Public Library Magic Club meets on the second Thursday of each month at the library! Share a trick you’ve been working on, and learn a new one. Bring a friend and get a prize!

Exploding Jupiters

Read to a therapy dog at the library!  Meet Jill and her Golden Retriever, Belle or Lori and her Boarder/Poodle, Maggie! Your child can read for 15 minutes to Belle or Maggie. You can bring a book or choose one from our basket.

The Water Show

Registration is required.

Don Miller will present an outdoor magic Water Show. Swimwear is recommended, as participants will get wet! This program will be outside. In the event of inclement weather, the program will be held inside the meeting rooms.

Remember When…Storytime

Join us for our Remember When… Storytime to listen to or tell a true story from a life experience! Led by Jerry Bennett & Larry Hagen. This program will take place on the 4th Wednesday of each month.

Ripley County Reads: Future Moon Mobile Planetarium

Thursday, June 27 | 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Taking us back in time to the Apollo missions, we witness human’s first step on the Moon & a theoretical lunar colony. Approx. 20 min. Register at your library for your time slot.

After Hours Concert Series: Mark Dvorak

Saturday, June 29 | Jam Session & Sing-Along 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM & After Hours Concert 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Mark Dvorak, Chicago folksinger, will lead a free Acoustic Jam Session and Sing-Along at the library from 1:00 till 2:30 PM. We welcome all instrumentalists, singers, and listeners! Mark will also provide an After Hours Concert at the library starting at 7:00 PM.
