Saturday, May 19 @ 3:00 pm :: Cincinnati Kinderballet presents "Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs" at Batesville Middle School Commons. Free to the public. Registration at the library is required. |

Saturday, May 26 @ 7:00 pm :: After Hours Concert at the library by the eclectic folk duo, Troubadours of Divine Bliss. "Harmonies as smooth as Kentucky Bourbon and soft as Spanish Moss." Free to the public. |

Tuesday, June 5 @ 6:00 - 8:40 pm :: Join us at the library for a rare cosmic event as we view the Transit of Venus through our safe, solar filtered telescope. This is the last time that the planet Venus will pass directly between Earth and the Sun until the year 2117! Remember, looking at the Sun is dangerous, so take part in this event only with properly filtered equipment. A free event for all ages, and weather permitting. |
2012 Summer Reading Program
The BMPL's Summer Reading Program is for all ages! This year's theme
is: "Reading on the High Seas" and will feature four
different events for kids, plus reading incentive prizes for all.
Sign-ups at the library begin June 4.

General Information
Because
the Batesville Memorial Public Library is a member of the Evergreen Indiana
Consortium, card holders in our library district can search for and
borrow materials from any of the other 100 or so Evergreen libraries in
the state. A map of our library district can be found
HERE.
The photo on the right shows the sculpture
that stands outside the library on Walnut Street. Titled "Paper
Airplanes: Journeys of the Imagination," this piece by
Gary Lee Price
is "about fantasy and enjoying our childhood and all of its wonders."
The BMPL subscribes to numerous searchable
databases that our
card holders can use for free. Most of these databases require your bar
code and/or a PIN.
